This iPhone 11 has endured at the bottom of a lake for six months. Even though today’s smartphones have really powerful processors, high-resolution screens, and even some with up to 12GB RAM, there is one feature that is not very common to the most current phones: Being submersible in water.

Because yes, they are resistant to water or splashes but not submersible, hence we must be very careful when taking it to the beach or the pool because in case we drop it in the water… the safest thing is that we break it. Except for this iPhone 11 that was 6 months at the bottom of a lake and still works. A matter of luck we imagine.

This iPhone 11 has been six months in a lake and miraculously, it still works

We read on Gizchina that Aquatic Monkey, a YouTube channel dedicated to diving and recovering lost objects, has found an iPhone 11 at the bottom of a lake in Canada. The funny thing? That after rescuing and cleaning it, the device works “correctly”.

Thanks to this they have been able to contact its owner, Fatemeh Ghodsi, who was in the park last September and unfortunately had a little mishap with her iPhone 11 while she was taking a boat ride on the lake.

To rescue the iPhone 11, they only dried it with silica. Although the speaker does not work, the rest of the device works perfectly and even the battery is at 96%.

We must remember that the iPhone 11 has IP68 certification or what is the same, it is resistant to water and dust and although it can be up to 30 minutes at a depth of 2 meters, it is not recommended at all, much less submerge it at the bottom of a deep lake. That’s why this iPhone 11 is still working after being in a lake for so long.
