If you don’t know how to learn if your smartphone has NFC or not you are in the right place. NFC or Near Field Communication, is a radio technology for short-distance data transmission. It has been integrated into our mobiles for a few years for tasks such as sending files, making payments with your mobile, or connecting to the Wi-Fi network without using the password. As its use advances, it becomes more important to have a smartphone with NFC.

  • How to mark all of your emails as read on the iPhone?
  • How to synchronize the Voice Memos recordings between all Apple devices?
  • How to prevent Mac from saving all the Wi-Fi networks?

It should be an easy question to answer by checking the technical specifications of the smartphone, but it is one of the details that is often left out or can change from one version to another. Here we will see a certain way to find out the subject in question.

How to learn if your smartphone has NFC or not?

If you have an Android phone: With thousands of Android phone models out there, it would be unthinkable to create a list of all the phones with NFC connectivity. If you want to know if a particular model has NFC connectivity, looking at the specs is not a certain answer because sometimes the same mobile has NFC in one country and not in another.

Possibly the easiest way to learn this from the quick settings panel, looking the NFC button appears or not.

It is also relatively easy and quick to go to the Android Settings and enter the Connections section. This is usually where the options for NFC are displayed, although as each manufacturer changes the order of the settings, you may need to use the search engine.

If you are not convinced by these methods, you can always look for the applications that show you the hardware of your phone. Some of them don’t show if your phone has NFC or not, so we recommend that you use an app called Device Info HW, a simple app to view your phone’s hardware. If your phone has NFC, a row will appear at the data in the General section, otherwise, it won’t.

If you have an iPhone: If you have an iPhone, the answer to that question is much easier. Every iPhone from iPhone 6 has NFC, although its use is much more restricted than Android: for years it was used exclusively for transactions with Apple Pay and nothing else.
