How to remove someone from a group chat on various devices

Follow these steps according to your device to effectively remove participants from your group chat.

On an iPhone

  • Open Messages and go to the group chat that you want to remove someone from.
  • Tap the group of icons at the top of the chat.
  • Tap the group to expand the list of members.
  • Swipe left over the name of the person you want to remove.
  • Tap Remove. If the group has fewer than 4 participants, you won’t be able to remove anyone.
