Amazon’s upgraded smart assistant, Alexa+, is now available on several Bose products, including the newly announced Lifestyle Ultra Speaker and Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar. This integration is notable as it marks the first time Alexa+ has been officially incorporated into non-Amazon devices.

The Lifestyle Ultra line is set to launch on May 15, with preorders currently available. In addition to these new devices, Alexa+ can also be accessed on other existing Bose products, such as the Smart Ultra Soundbar, Home Speaker, and Portable Smart Speaker.

Alexa+ is designed to offer enhanced capabilities compared to its predecessor, with notable improvements in understanding conversational language. The assistant can assist users with a range of tasks, including making restaurant reservations.

A specific function of this integration allows Alexa+ to find songs based on contextual requests. For example, users can ask to “play that song from that movie where the guy holds up the boombox outside his girlfriend’s house.”

Amazon has also introduced various personality styles for Alexa+, including a “sassy” option, which humorously comments on notifications, such as warning users that certain alerts are “more boring than watching paint dry.”
