Europe must urgently develop its own superhacking technology to compete with Anthropic’s Mythos model, according to senior government and industry cybersecurity officials. The call for action comes in the wake of Anthropic sharing its new AI model with several tech firms and organizations, mainly based in the U.S.

Officials anticipate a surge in cyberattacks and security breaches following Anthropic’s disclosure. The company has indicated that its AI model is superior to humans at identifying and exploiting cybersecurity vulnerabilities, raising significant concerns about the potential for devastating hacks on critical systems if misused.

The lack of involvement from European regulators has intensified these worries. Cybersecurity experts are now urging European entities to accelerate the creation of their own advanced hacking AI to mitigate the risks posed by Anthropic’s technology.
