Google has launched a new AI-powered feature for Translate that assists users in correcting and practicing enunciation when learning a new language.

The “pronunciation practice” tool analyzes user speech to provide instant feedback, enabling learners to improve before engaging in conversation. The feature draws similarities to pronunciation tools available on Duolingo’s language learning app.

This feature is currently available for Android users in the US and India, focusing on English, Spanish, and Hindi. Google has not announced plans for expansion to other regions or for iOS users.

The launch coincides with the 20th anniversary of Google’s translation service. The company described pronunciation practice as “one of our most requested features.” Google Translate has over one billion monthly users and translates approximately one trillion words each month through its various services.
