Apple announced that developers can now set up and test new monthly subscriptions with a 12-month commitment on the App Store ahead of the public rollout.

This feature allows developers to offer users the option to spread annual subscription fees into smaller monthly payments while requiring commitment to the full term. Users will have the flexibility to cancel their subscription at any time, which will prevent renewals after fulfilling their payment obligations.

According to Apple, users can easily view completed and remaining payments for their subscriptions in their Apple Account. The company will also send emails and push notifications to remind users about upcoming renewals.

Currently, the new subscription option is available in App Store Connect and can be tested in Xcode, but it is not yet live on the App Store. Apple confirmed that the feature will become available worldwide following the release of iOS 26.5 and its counterparts next month, with exceptions for users in the United States and Singapore.

Apple’s press release did not specify the reasons for the unavailability of this option in the United States and Singapore or provide a timeline for when the feature may be rolled out in those regions. 9to5Mac has reached out to Apple for further comments and updates.
