Google announced the expansion of its Gemini in Chrome feature to seven new markets: Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam.
The rollout includes both desktop and iOS platforms in all these countries, except Japan. This expansion follows the feature’s initial launch for U.S. users in January and its subsequent rollout to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March.
Since last year, Google has been enhancing Chrome with AI and Gemini through various integrations, including a floating window. Earlier this year, Google introduced a sidebar-based assistant that enables users to answer questions across tabs and leverage the Personal Intelligence feature.
This Personal Intelligence feature allows users to connect to services like Gmail and Google Photos for personalized answers. Additionally, users can schedule meetings using Google Calendar, check locations with Google Maps, and draft or send emails through Gmail using the sidebar assistant.
Users can also transform images on the web using Nano Banana 2 within the sidebar. The company’s agentic feature, which allows users to delegate tasks to the browser, is currently in testing. This feature is accessible only to AI Pro and AI Ultra paid plan users in the U.S.
