Music streaming services are increasingly dominant, with Deezer reporting that AI-generated music now accounts for nearly 50% of all new uploads. The rise of these platforms facilitates the seamless integration of AI-created tracks into user playlists.

Deezer’s findings indicate that the influx of AI-generated music is substantial, with 75,000 new AI tracks uploaded daily. This shift reflects a growing trend in the music industry where artificial intelligence is becoming a critical component of content generation.

Listeners often struggle to discern AI music from human-created tracks. A recent Deezer survey revealed that 97% of participants could not distinguish between two AI songs and one human-made song after listening. The indistinguishable quality of AI tracks raises questions about labeling practices within streaming services.

Unlike many of its competitors, Deezer has developed and implemented technology that identifies AI-generated content. This technology is now proprietary and is licensed to third parties, showcasing Deezer’s commitment to transparency in music sourcing.

The company states that its detection technology boasts a false positive rate of less than 0.01%. This claim underlines their effort to maintain accurate labeling in an increasingly complex music landscape, where AI contributions are often overlooked.
