Google has fully integrated NotebookLM, its AI-powered research tool, into the Gemini app, allowing users to create notebooks directly within the chatbot interface.
This integration enhances user experience by enabling direct access to notebook creation in Gemini’s side panel, where users can select various sources such as PDFs, documents, website URLs, and videos to include in their notebooks. The feature aims to streamline the research process by compiling a searchable repository of information.
NotebookLM generates outputs like reviewers, infographics, and video/audio overviews based on the uploaded content, assisting users in converting complex information into easily digestible formats. Google cautions, however, that the information provided by NotebookLM may be inaccurate, urging users to verify any outputs.
The rollout of NotebookLM’s full integration is occurring this week for subscribers of Google AI Ultra, Pro, and Plus versions on the web. Future availability is planned for mobile platforms, additional regions, and free users in the coming weeks.
