Google is rolling out a new search function for app reviews on the Google Play Store, allowing users to find exact matches of at least two words in reviews.
This feature enhances the Play Store experience by enabling users to search for specific features or gameplay elements in apps and games. The rollout follows Google’s efforts to improve user access to information about applications on its platform.
Users can access the search function by selecting the “See all reviews” button, which will display popular search terms alongside the feature. The search phrase will be bolded in the showcased reviews, enhancing visibility. This functionality draws parallels to Amazon’s “Search customer reviews” function.
The addition of a review search capability represents a significant upgrade for the Play Store compared to Apple’s App Store, which only allows users to sort reviews. Google has increasingly implemented stricter measures against apps that violate its policies, further enhancing the quality of content on its platform.
Google’s initiative to introduce a search function for reviews could help users make more informed decisions while navigating potential app options.
