ElevenLabs has launched an iOS app named ElevenMusic for creating and discovering AI-generated music. The app, which surfaced on the App Store prior to its official release on April 1, signifies the company’s ambition to expand beyond voice modeling and delve into AI music tools to safeguard against the commoditization of AI audio models.

The app is free to use, enabling users to generate up to seven songs per day using natural language prompts. Users can customize the song’s length, decide on lyrical content, and select the writing style. ElevenMusic also allows for discovering and remixing songs created by other users, with remixes counting towards the daily limit.

The app features live stations, pre-created albums, and daily mixes categorized by moods such as Focus, Energy, Relax, Late Night, Cosmic, and Chill. It includes sections akin to those of music streaming platforms, including top charts, trending tracks, and new releases.

A Pro subscription is available at $9.99 per month or $95.90 annually, allowing users to create up to 500 tracks each month and providing over 500 GB of storage. This tier grants access to a broader range of styles and moods.

In February 2023, ElevenLabs secured $500 million in a Series C funding round, achieving an $11 billion valuation. The company has focused recently on enhancing its creative models and tools, launching its first music-generation model last August, which it termed commercially safe.

Earlier this year, ElevenLabs collaborated with top music producers to release an AI-assisted album. The startup previously introduced a creative tool capable of ad generation, voice-overs, translation, image generation, video making, and voice cloning.

Additionally, ElevenLabs has provided consumer tools like its voice generator and ElevenReader. It initiated a program last year enabling authors to earn royalties by converting and distributing their books through ElevenReader. The company is actively hiring for a consumer marketing role to boost its music vertical and is considering royalty or other incentives to foster user-generated music on the platform.
