Picsart launched an AI agent marketplace enabling creators to utilize AI assistants for design tasks. The marketplace allows users to employ AI for purposes such as resizing and remixing social content, and editing product photos for platforms like Shopify.

The marketplace aims to cater to Picsart’s user base of over 130 million worldwide, predominantly Gen Z creators and social media managers. The offering positions Picsart to meet increasing demand for agentic AI chatbots, which can execute requests similar to a personal assistant.

Hovhannes Avoyan, Picsart founder and CEO, stated that the agents shift the creator’s role from operator to director, allowing them to set direction while the AI plans and executes.

Initially, four agents are available: Flair, Resize Pro, Remix, and Swap. Picsart plans to introduce more specialized agents weekly.

The Flair agent integrates with Shopify, providing recommendations for online store improvements based on market trends, such as suggesting cohesive product photo edits. Future updates will enable Flair to run A/B tests and provide proactive sales recommendations for underperforming products.

Resize Pro resizes images and videos for various platforms. It uses generative AI to extend frames for optimal sizing, aiming for intentional composition rather than haphazard cropping.

The Remix agent allows creators to apply a described style, such as “vintage film” or “cyberpunk,” to an existing photo library. The Swap agent facilitates bulk background changes in photos.

Users can interact with these AI agents via messaging applications like WhatsApp and Telegram, which Picsart supports through their APIs. This functionality allows creators to manage tasks from different locations.

Picsart addresses potential issues such as AI hallucinations by allowing users to set “autonomy levels” for agents like Flair. This feature requires creator approval before the agent takes action, mitigating unintended outcomes.
