Meta Platforms Inc. is reportedly developing an artificial intelligence (AI) detection feature for its Meta AI chatbot.
This tool, if released, could enable the identification of AI-generated content, potentially impacting how users interact with AI models and content across various platforms. TestingCatalog reported the development on X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared a screenshot showing an “AI Detector” menu option within Meta AI.
The feature is currently under development and is not active for users. Its complete functionality and potential release timeline remain undisclosed. Information regarding the AI detector’s capabilities is limited; it could potentially detect AI-generated text, images, audio, and video, or be restricted to Meta’s own AI models.
Separately, Meta’s planned new large language models (LLMs), codenamed Avocado, are experiencing delays due to performance issues compared to rival models, according to a recent report.
