JBL introduced two AI-powered practice amplifiers, the BandBox Solo and BandBox Trio, featuring onboard Stem AI technology for instrument separation from Bluetooth-streamed music.

The BandBox Solo, priced at $250, caters to individual musicians with a single guitar/mic input. The BandBox Trio, available for $600, accommodates bands with up to four instrument inputs.

The Trio model includes onboard controls and an LCD display; these features are not present in the Solo version. Both models utilize the JBL One app, which provides filters for various amp models and effects such as phaser, chorus, reverb, a pitch shifter, and a tuner. A built-in looper function for layering will activate via a software update scheduled for October.

The BandBox Solo offers up to six hours of battery life. The BandBox Trio provides up to 10 hours of operation, with a replaceable battery option for extended use. Pre-orders for both the $250 BandBox Solo and the $600 BandBox Trio began today on JBL’s website. Shipments and third-party retail availability are set for March 1.
