Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, updating its flagship Android tablet lineup with a focus on enhanced performance and design. The base model Tab S11 effectively replaces the previous Plus model, offering similar capabilities in a more streamlined form factor, while the Ultra boasts a larger 14.6-inch display that is both thinner and lighter than its predecessor, maintaining a high-resolution 120 Hz refresh rate.
Both tablets are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, a slightly overclocked version of the standard 9400 chipset. This upgrade delivers a reported 24% increase in CPU performance and a 27% boost in GPU capabilities, attributed to its 3nm process technology. The Galaxy Tab S11 features an 8,400 mAh battery, while the Ultra is equipped with a larger 11,600 mAh battery, both supporting up to 45W fast charging.
In terms of camera specifications, the Galaxy Tab S11 features a single 13MP rear sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide front camera. The Ultra model retains the 13MP rear sensor but opts for a single 12MP ultra-wide front camera, departing from the dual-camera setup found in earlier Ultra versions. The rear camera configuration, however, remains consistent across both models, incorporating a 13MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
Software enhancements include an upgraded DeX mode supporting four independent workspaces and multi-screen setups. Samsung has also integrated a new floating AI overlay and enhanced its One UI 8 software, based on Android 15, with Galaxy AI features designed to assist with writing, drawing, and audio summarization. The S Pen has been redesigned with a hexagonal button and an optional magnetic charging case.
Both the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra are IP68 rated for water and dust resistance and support microSD card expansion up to 2TB. Pricing starts at $799 for the 128GB Galaxy Tab S11 and $1,199 for the Ultra model, with prices increasing for higher storage capacities. The tablets are currently available in regions where previous S10 FE models are still in stock, pending the release of next year’s updated versions.
