At the Shanghai MWC 2025 event, Huawei reaffirmed its commitment to being a global leader in 5G and AI, outlining a strategic vision for growth despite ongoing geopolitical pressures.
In a keynote address, Deputy Chairman Eric Xu Zhijun identified four key areas to drive the next phase of the telecommunications industry. These include attracting new user groups like live-streamers and delivery workers, strengthening the high-definition video supply chain, enabling smart connected vehicles with 5G, and expanding Fibre-to-the-Room (FTTR) to digitalize small businesses.
To accelerate the global rollout of 5G-Advanced (5G-A), Huawei unveiled a new AI ultra-broadband solution. The company stated this solution features end-to-end built-in computing power, designed to enhance network intelligence and performance for both residential and business customers. Xu emphasized a collaborative approach, stating Huawei is “willing to work with global carriers and help them achieve sustainable growth.”
Immediately following the MWC event, Huawei will host its annual Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2025 starting June 20. A major highlight is the expected launch of HarmonyOS 6.0, the next iteration of the company’s proprietary operating system. Today, Huawei has already launched the developer beta for HarmonyOS 6.0.
