HP has unveiled HP Dimension with Google Beam, a collaborative technology that brings Google’s “Beam” initiative to the forefront of video communication. Announced at InfoComm 2025, this system aims to create lifelike, 3D video calls without the need for headsets or wearables.
Google Beam was initially announced at Google I/O a month prior as an AI-powered solution for making video calls feel more three-dimensional. The HP Dimension integration leverages six cameras and advanced AI to generate 3D videos of participants. HP states that the system’s special light field display renders participant video with realistic size, depth, color, and eye contact.
The core of the HP Dimension with Google Beam system is a 65-inch light-field display, designed to provide true-to-life dimensions for participants. The technology also incorporates spatial audio and adaptive lighting to further enhance the immersive experience, aiming to replicate the feeling of being in the same room.
Andrew Nartker, general manager of Google Beam at Google, commented, “HP Dimension with Google Beam needs to be seen to be believed — making it feel as though you are in the same room, even when you are miles apart.”
The system is designed for compatibility with major video-meeting platforms. It offers native experiences for Zoom Rooms and Google Meet, supporting 3D one-on-one calls, traditional 2D group meetings, and interoperability with cloud-based services such as Teams and Webex.
HP highlights that this technology addresses a significant workplace need, with 73% of knowledge workers reporting a desire to feel more connected to their colleagues. Helen Sheirbon, SVP and President of Hybrid Systems at HP Inc., stated, “HP Dimension with Google Beam bridges the gap between the virtual and physical worlds to create lifelike virtual communication experiences that brings us closer together.”
Internal testing by HP suggests promising results regarding connectivity and engagement. The company reported a 28% increase in memory recall, 29% more non-verbal behaviors displayed, and at least a 14% increase in focus on the meeting partner when using HP Dimension with Google Beam.
Aimed at shared enterprise environments, the HP Dimension with Beam system has a starting price of $24,999. HP announced that the technology will become available to select customers beginning in late 2025.
