PlayStation is set to host a livestream showcase on Wednesday, June 4th, at 5 PM ET. This announcement adds to an already packed week for the video game industry, following the anticipated launch of the Switch 2 and numerous other developer and publisher presentations.
The PlayStation State of Play event, which will be streamed on Twitch and YouTube, is scheduled to run for approximately 40 minutes. According to Sony’s announcement, the broadcast will provide updates on upcoming PlayStation 5 titles and potentially feature some surprises.
This flurry of activity in early June effectively replicates the excitement of the now-defunct E3 trade show, with major players in the industry opting for individual showcases. Summer Game Fest, hosted by Geoff Keighley, is slated to begin on Friday, June 6th, while Xbox will hold its showcase on Sunday, June 8th. Epic Games is also currently hosting its State of Unreal event.
Among the titles with a strong possibility of making an appearance during the PlayStation showcase is Hideo Kojima’s highly anticipated sequel, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. Additionally, Sucker Punch’s Ghosts of Yotei is also expected to receive a brief update, offering a glimpse ahead of its planned release date of October 2nd.
