Today, we are covering Diablo Immortal revenue, which is said to be over $20 million, and the Diablo Immortal development budget for those who are interested.

The untold tale between Diablo II and Diablo III is revealed in this all-new massively multiplayer online action RPG, built for mobile and now also available to Open Beta on PC. The Archangel Tyrael is believed to be dead, leaving humans to deal with the consequences of his deeds. Fragments of the broken Worldstone, still imbued with considerable power, are poisoning the environment. Diablo’s henchmen want to seize that energy so that the Lord of Terror may return. You can download the game and try it for yourself from Google Play Store or App Store depending on your platform.

According to Appmagic, Diablo Immortal has earned around $24 million for Blizzard’s struggling studio in the two weeks since its release. According to its estimate shared with GameDev Reports, the analytics firm said that the free-to-play game was downloaded more than 8.5 million times in that time frame, with 26% of downloads coming from the US. The bulk of Blizzard’s revenue from Diablo Immortal has come from the United States. US players have so far contributed about 43 percent of all earnings in the game.

South Korea came in second at 23%. Japan accounted for 8%, Germany 6%, and Canada 3% made up the title’s total spending on microtransactions. Despite its financial success, Diablo Immortal did not release in the Netherlands or Belgium. This is probably caused by the loot box regulations in these countries. The hasn’t yet been released in China and has been delayed, as of the writing of this article.

To put things into perspective, Hearthstone, the only other mobile game Blizzard currently has out, made around $5 million in May. Despite the loud protests against Immortal’s monetization systems, it’s probably safe to say no one anticipated the game to fail immediately. Instead, many fans were concerned about a situation where Immortal proved so lucrative for Blizzard that it influenced how the company makes money from future projects.

For the time being, that concern appears to be unjustified. Diablo franchise general manager Rod Fergusson recently stated that Diablo IV would feature a distinct set of monetization systems than Immortal. “To be clear, D4 is a full-price game built for PC/PS/Xbox audiences,” he tweeted after the game’s recent debut at Microsoft’s Summer Game Fest presentation. Overwatch 2 will also eliminate loot boxes, according to an announcement made by Blizzard this week.

Diablo Immortal development budget

There is no official report regarding the development budget of Diablo Immortal, but the game was co-developed by NetEase, Blizzard’s partner for Chinese market releases, who had other games similar to Diablo Immortal. There are rumors regarding the Diablo Immortal development budget, which is said to be around $17 million. If that is the case, Blizzard has already made their money back and profited in just 2 weeks.

The game is getting trashed on various gaming websites, with everyone claiming how the microtransactions ruin the gameplay and how Blizzard was corrupting gamers’ beloved childhood memories. The game has the worst user rating on Metacritic. The game has many different predatory microtransaction schemes, evidenced by the fact that getting a single 5/5 star gem costs upwards of $10,000.
