Canon launched the EOS R5 full-frame mirrorless camera last year in July, which has enabled the company to secure its global market share, as it has done since 2003.

The Japanese company is once again celebrating its leadership in the full-frame mirrorless camera market.

In 2003, the company introduced the EOS 300D, a model with which it captured a big share of the market and marked the beginning of a growth path in the DSLR segment.

Since then, it has continued to launch products, such as the EOS 5D series, which allowed video recording, or the EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera and RF lenses, to boost creativity. In 2019, in fact, the EOS series sold 100 million units.

The product range is broad, there are options from professional models to entry-level cameras. Canon launched the EOS R5 full-frame mirrorless camera in July 2020, and once again the company became the number one in global share. That makes eighteen years in a row.
