Apple Sports has expanded its availability to over 90 new countries and regions, now reaching more than 170 countries worldwide. The free iPhone app provides personalized, real-time features for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, enabling fans to follow tournament groupings and customize scoreboards for their favorite teams.

Users can access Live Activities on their iPhone Lock Screen or Apple Watch by following a team, allowing them to track matches at a glance. The app also supports widgets for iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Home Screens to deliver real-time tournament updates. A single tap can direct users to the Apple TV app to find live matches on connected streaming services.

Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Music, Sports, Apple TV, and Beats, stated, “The World Cup unites fans across the globe, making it the ideal moment to bring Apple Sports to even more users.” He emphasized the app’s design for fast and simple access to essential scores and stats.

New features include a tournament bracket view for tracking team progression and enhanced game cards that display visual formations of each team’s starting lineup. The app integrates with Apple News, directing users to comprehensive editorial coverage and the latest headlines.

For Live Activities, users need compatible Apple devices running iOS 18 or later and watchOS 11 or later. A subscription may be required for certain services, and availability can vary by country. Apple News is available only in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Australia, with some content restrictions in certain areas.
