TikTok is introducing an ad-free option for users in the UK, expected to roll out over the coming months. The service will be available to account holders aged 18 and older.

The TikTok Ad-Free tier will cost £4 ($5.40) per month, aimed at offsetting lost ad revenue. This announcement follows a similar feature launched by Meta for Facebook and Instagram last fall in the UK, priced at £3 ($4) per month.

Kris Boge, TikTok’s UK Managing Director, stated, “Choice for our community and growth for UK businesses go hand in hand on TikTok.” He added that advertising on the platform helps numerous British businesses reach new customers and increase sales. Boge emphasized that the new ad-free option provides users with greater control over their experience.

The ad-free option does not introduce any new features beyond the removal of ads. There is currently no information regarding a similar subscription service for users in the United States. This marks TikTok’s first official launch of an ad-free experience in an English-speaking country.
