WhatsApp is testing a new feature called notification bubbles for its Android and iOS users. This feature aims to enhance quick messaging and facilitate multi-tasking, particularly when users engage in multiple chats while using other applications.
Reported by WABetaInfo, the notification bubbles will function similarly to those used in Facebook Messenger. Users will see a floating bubble on the screen when they receive a message, regardless of the app currently in use. The bubble will display the contact or group’s profile picture alongside a small WhatsApp icon.
Clicking on the notification bubble will open a compact version of the WhatsApp chat interface, enabling users to read and respond to messages without fully launching the app. This functionality is expected to streamline communication, allowing users to interact with WhatsApp while performing other tasks.
The public release date for the notification bubbles feature remains unclear since WhatsApp is still in the testing phase. It is anticipated that the feature will first roll out to beta users before a wider public release.
