Spotify announced a revamped tablet interface for Android tablets and iPads designed to enhance listening, watching, and discovery on larger screens. The update aims to provide a more natural experience tailored specifically for tablets.

The new user interface is not merely a scaled-up version of the mobile app. Spotify emphasized that the redesign effectively utilizes the extra screen space, allowing users to browse and discover new content alongside their current playback.

The user interface dynamically reconfigures when switching between portrait and landscape modes, ensuring a balanced experience in both views. A new interactive sidebar enables users to explore content while listening, with options to collapse or expand it based on individual preferences.

Additionally, a prominently featured “Switch to Video” toggle allows users to transition easily into an immersive viewing experience. Despite these changes, the core navigation remains consistent with the mobile app, providing a familiar interface for existing users.

The bottom navigation bar continues to offer easy access to main pages, maintaining usability across the platform. Users have reported increased engagement with Spotify, particularly on iPads, attributing it to the improvements in the tablet user interface.

Spotify stated that the revamped design is intended to create a more engaging and user-friendly experience, meeting the demands of tablet users looking for enhanced functionality.
