Revenue rate has surpassed $30 billion at Anthropic, up from around $9 billion at the end of 2025. The increase reflects significant demand for the company’s AI tools, indicating strong market traction.

Anthropic has entered a new agreement to access 3.5GW of Google’s Tensor Processing Units (TPU) capacity from Broadcom. This expansion will deepen the relationship between Anthropic and Google, building upon a previous deal announced last October worth “tens of billions of dollars” for 1 million TPUs.

According to Broadcom’s regulatory filing on April 6, Anthropic’s consumption of TPU capacity will depend on its continued commercial success. The multi-gigawatt TPU capacity is expected to be available starting in 2027.

The collaboration is set to bring over 1GW of AI compute capacity online for Anthropic this year. Broadcom also stated that it is in a long-term agreement with Google to develop and supply custom TPUs, further solidifying the infrastructure supporting Anthropic’s operations.

Anthropic maintains multi-billion dollar agreements for compute capacity with companies including Nvidia and Microsoft. The company operates its Claude AI on various hardware platforms, primarily utilizing Amazon Web Services’ Trainium, Google TPUs, and Nvidia GPUs, with Amazon as its principal cloud provider.

A significant majority of the new compute capacity will be located in the U.S., complementing Anthropic’s $50 billion commitment to enhancing the nation’s computing infrastructure. This investment reflects the increasing demand for AI solutions.

Demand for Anthropic’s AI tools surged in 2026, with the company capturing more than 73% of spending among first-time buyers of AI tools, while its rival OpenAI’s share dipped to about 27 percent. More than 1,000 of Anthropic’s business customers now spend over $1 million annually, with this figure doubling in under two months.

Krishna Rao, CFO of Anthropic, said, “We are building the capacity necessary to serve the exponential growth we have seen in our customer base while also enabling Claude to define the frontier of AI development.”

In February, Anthropic secured $30 billion in a Series G funding round led by Coatue Management and Singapore’s GIC, valuing the company at $380 billion. This fundraising represents its most significant compute commitment to date in response to unprecedented growth.
