OpenAI is developing several user interface updates for the ChatGPT app, enhancing file sharing and management features, Android Authroity reports. The updates include a custom share sheet, a new file picker interface, and an “Uploaded files” option to streamline file access.

The custom share sheet will appear after tapping the share icon, featuring hardcoded app options for direct sharing, including Google Messages, Gmail, Signal, Instagram, and Facebook, among others. Users will also find options to copy links or open the system share sheet for additional sharing possibilities.

In addition, changes to photo attachments will introduce three editing options: “Clean up image,” “Remove the background,” and “Draw and annotate.” The annotate option is functional, while the other two currently populate text but do not perform any operational changes.

The “Uploaded files” option will lead to a new window titled “Files in this chat,” displaying previously uploaded files for easier access. During an APK teardown, approximately 30 files were observed in the list, suggesting a significant enhancement in file management within the app.

A new file picker interface will replace the current system file picker, showing recently uploaded files directly within the app. An “Upload files” option will be available at the top of this new page, providing users with streamlined access to their documents.

According to the teardown findings, users can expect these updates in an upcoming version of the ChatGPT app, although specific release dates were not disclosed.
