Electronic Arts (EA) will delist the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield Hardline from digital storefronts on May 22. The online services for the console versions will cease operations on June 22, although the single-player campaign will remain accessible for those who previously purchased the game. The PC version of Battlefield Hardline will not be impacted by these changes.

This decision reflects a broader market trend where game publishers terminate online services for titles with dwindling player bases. EA referenced a FAQ on its website, which discusses typical reasons for discontinuing support. However, the company did not specify the exact rationale behind its decision for Battlefield Hardline on consoles.

Initially released in 2015, Battlefield Hardline continues to be available on Steam and EA’s own PC application. The Steam version reported a peak concurrent player count of 41 users this year, indicating a limited but active player base.

The choice to end online services is increasingly scrutinized, highlighted by the Stop Killing Games movement, which advocates for better support of older games. EA has previously discontinued online services for numerous titles, with a list of affected games available on its website across three separate pages.
