Samsung Electronics will begin rolling out AirDrop support via Quick Share to its Galaxy S26 series devices this week, starting March 23.
This integration allows Galaxy users to share files with Apple devices, enhancing cross-platform interoperability for a significant portion of the global smartphone market.
The rollout will commence on March 23 in Korea, with the United States to follow later the same week. Other regions including Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan will also receive the update.
Additional Galaxy devices will receive AirDrop over Quick Share support at an unspecified later date, the company said.
Samsung noted that AirDrop support will not be enabled by default on Galaxy devices. Users must activate a specific setting under Quick Share to “Share with Apple devices.”
For file transfers, both Galaxy and iPhone users must enable “Everyone” mode on their respective devices, Samsung stated in a note shared with 9to5Google. Google Pixel 10 devices first introduced this feature in late 2025, with support expanding to the Pixel 9 series recently.
Chinese smartphone maker Oppo also stated its devices would add similar support by the end of March.
