Apple will release an iPad model featuring an A18 chip for Apple Intelligence capabilities this year, according to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
This upcoming device would expand Apple Intelligence support to the entry-level iPad line, aligning it with other current-generation iPad models.
Gurman stated the iPad with the A18 chip is “ready to go” and “still coming this year.”
Macworld previously reported that the iPad 12 would incorporate an A19 chip. Apple has not announced other significant changes for the iPad 12, suggesting the device may retain the design of its predecessor.
Apple Intelligence is currently available on the iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro models. Apple released the iPad 11, equipped with an A16 chip, in March 2025. This model had a U.S. starting price of $349.
