Apple is expected to launch new MacBook Pro models later this year featuring a touchscreen OLED display and M6-series chips.
The development signals a potential expansion of Apple’s laptop lineup and could introduce a new tier of high-end devices. The new models are expected to command a higher price, with potential increases of up to 20 percent.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the upcoming MacBook could carry an Ultra moniker and sit above the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBooks. Gurman is unsure whether Apple will adopt the Ultra branding or stick with the traditional Pro name. The new OLED touchscreen MacBooks could see prices rise by as much as 20 percent, according to the analyst.
Apple is planning to expand its lineup with options across different price points. The company recently introduced the more affordable MacBook Neo with a starting price of $599. A similar tiered strategy could extend to its higher-end MacBook offerings as well.
The new OLED MacBooks with touchscreens will reportedly launch in Q4 2026.
