Bethesda’s Starfield is rumored to launch for PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026, according to leaker ‘Billbil-kun’ of Dealabs.
The potential release would mark a significant shift for the title, which launched as an exclusive for Xbox and PC in 2023. This move aligns with Microsoft’s recent multiplatform strategy and would introduce the RPG to a new console audience.
The PS5 version is reportedly planned for Standard and Premium Editions. The leaker stated the Standard Edition would cost £44.99 or €49.99, while the Premium Edition would be priced at £59.99 or €69.99.
Specific contents for these editions remain unknown. Unlike the original releases, the PS5 version will not offer an early access period for preorders, according to the leak.
Preorders for the PS5 version are planned to open between March 17 and March 18, 2026. The leaker noted that their source “hasn’t always been reliable in the past,” and it is unclear if these dates will coincide with an official announcement.
Starfield originally launched in 2023 and received several updates, including the Shattered Space expansion. A second major expansion titled Starborn is also rumored for release this year.
A major update for Starfield is claimed to launch alongside the PS5 version. The update aims to improve space flight loading screens and the Creation Engine, according to the leak.
Rumors of a PS5 version have persisted alongside a potential Nintendo Switch 2 edition. Former Xbox boss Phil Spencer previously declined to rule out the idea of Starfield coming to PlayStation.
