Huawei has added the Enjoy 70X to its 5A network connectivity support list, bringing the enhanced networking standard to an entry-level smartphone for the first time. The device is expected to receive the capability through an upcoming HarmonyOS update.
The 5A network standard goes beyond conventional 5G connectivity. According to Huawei Central, the technology offers 50 percent faster access than standard 5G, 30 percent higher throughput, 49 percent lower latency, 50 percent wider coverage, and nearly 80 percent more stable connections.
Previously reserved for flagship and mid-range devices, 5A support on the Enjoy 70X marks a shift in Huawei’s strategy to bring premium features to budget-friendly hardware.
The Enjoy 70X is also notable as the first model in the Enjoy family to feature smart satellite capabilities. Users can send satellite messages or images by long-pressing the X button. The device also includes HarmonyOS smart communication with AI-powered networking, dual SIM support, and signal enhancement for underground environments.
The smartphone recently became the first device to support HarmonyOS 6 API version 22, receiving immersive interface upgrades. Huawei appears to be expanding its networking capabilities across a broader range of devices, with plans to bring 5A connectivity to older flagships and mid-range models as well.
