Respawn Entertainment announced that Apex Legends will end support on the original Nintendo Switch after the release of Season 30. The game will continue on the Nintendo Switch 2 and all other currently supported platforms, but not on the original Switch.

Season 29 marks the final update for Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch, as stated in a Respawn post on X: “Season 29 will be the final update for Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch.” The change takes effect on August 4, 2026, providing Switch players several months to finish matches or prepare a switch to another platform.

Player data remains secure across devices. Respawn explained: “All players’ progress, purchases, and earnings are tied to their individual EA accounts.” The studio added: “Everything that has been earned or purchased, including Apex Coins and cosmetics, will carry over to Nintendo Switch 2, even if you purchase Nintendo Switch 2 after August 4, 2026.”

The Nintendo Switch 2 delivers a superior playing experience for Apex Legends compared to the original Switch model. Apex Legends arrived on the original Nintendo Switch in 2021, two years following its initial launch on other platforms.
