Mark Zuckerberg announced that Meta users will begin seeing new AI models and products within months, following a 2025 rebuild of the company’s AI foundations.
During an investor call on Wednesday, Zuckerberg referred to Meta’s recently restructured AI lab. “In 2025, we rebuilt the foundations of our AI program,” he said. “Over the coming months, we’re going to start shipping our new models and products… and I expect us to steadily push the frontier over the course of the new year.” The executive provided no specific timelines or product details.
Zuckerberg emphasized AI-driven commerce as a key focus. “This also has implications for commerce,” he stated. “New agentic shopping tools will allow people to find just the right set of products from the businesses in our catalog.”
The initiative aligns with industry trends. Google and OpenAI have developed platforms for agent-enabled transactions, with partners including Stripe and Uber.
Meta views its access to personal data as a differentiator. “We’re starting to see the promise of AI that understands our personal context, including our history, our interests, our content and our relationships,” Zuckerberg said. “A lot of what makes agents valuable is the unique context that they can see, and we believe that Meta will be able to provide a uniquely personal experience.”
