Anthropic has doubled its venture capital funding target to $20 billion from $10 billion, the Financial Times reports. The round is expected to close soon and value the company at $350 billion, according to sources.
The increase follows booming investor interest. Expected backers include Sequoia Capital, which also invests in rival OpenAI, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, and investment firm Coatue.
Anthropic develops the Claude AI model and Claude Code. In September, it announced a $13 billion funding round that valued the company at $183 billion, making it one of the most valuable private AI firms.
Late last year, Anthropic hired lawyers to prepare for a potential initial public offering this year.
