Xiaomi plans to release a new smartphone in 2026 featuring an in-house chip, operating system, and AI, aiming for self-sufficiency in core technologies.

Reported by SmartPikachu, Xiaomi seeks to develop a smartphone using its own operating system, AI, and chip technology, thereby reducing reliance on external suppliers and US technology.

Sources indicate this strategy parallels Huawei’s approach, which introduced its Kirin 5G chips, HarmonyOS NEXT operating system, and Celia AI features into the consumer market.

Xiaomi has developed its own chips, known as XRING, as an alternative to Snapdragon processors.

While HyperOS 3.0 currently bases its architecture on Android versions, the company may discontinue this support in the future. Xiaomi also employs HyperAI for its devices, which integrates with HyperOS to manage system functions.

HyperAI provides on-device intelligent features, including image editing, system optimization, and enhanced security. Users can experience faster processing speeds, improved privacy, and reduced power consumption.

Specific details regarding Xiaomi’s upcoming products remain under wraps. The company’s objective is to integrate its proprietary chip, operating system, and AI into a single device by 2026.
