Rode has launched the Wireless Micro Camera Kit, an upgraded version of its Wireless Micro system designed for enhanced versatility in audio recording.

The kit offers universal compatibility with any modern camera system, including digital cameras, as well as smartphones and mobile devices. This allows content creators to switch between platforms without compatibility issues, building on the original system’s smartphone connectivity while expanding to full-size cameras.

Key improvements center on the receiver unit, which now includes a 1.1-inch AMOLED display for better control over settings. It provides both 3.5mm TRS and USB-C outputs, enabling direct connections to professional camera rigs. The receiver has been enlarged to fit the display and incorporates a cold shoe mount for secure attachment to cameras, improving handling and setup speed in diverse filming scenarios.

The kit preserves the high-quality audio transmission of the predecessor, emphasizing mobility and flexibility for videographers and vloggers. It supports single-channel operation, making it suitable for straightforward audio capture during video production.

In contrast to Rode’s Wireless GO II, which features dual-channel recording, on-board audio storage, and extended transmission range, the Wireless Micro Camera Kit focuses on compact, universal integration without those advanced capabilities. The Wireless GO II also maintains broad compatibility across cameras, phones, and computers.
