The upcoming OnePlus 15 smartphone will feature a display with a 1.5K resolution, a confirmed downgrade from the QHD+ (2K) screens found in previous flagships like the OnePlus 13. While resolution is lower, the device’s screen will support a higher refresh rate of 165Hz, an increase from the 120Hz panel on its predecessor.
OnePlus provided a technical reason for this change, stating that it is not currently feasible to implement a QHD+ display that also operates at a 165Hz refresh rate. This information highlights a specific design choice involving a trade-off between screen resolution and refresh rate speed.
Beyond the display, reports indicate the OnePlus 15 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Other reported specifications for the device include a large battery with fast-charging capabilities and a triple-camera system.
