HBO Max has increased the prices for all its subscription plans, effective October 21, 2025. The new rates apply to new subscribers on that date, while existing subscribers will see the price change on their first billing cycle on or after November 20, 2025.
The Basic with Ads plan increased by $1 to $10.99 per month, or by $10 to $109.99 annually. The Standard plan is now $18.49 per month, a $1.50 increase, or $184.99 per year, a $15 increase. The Premium tier rose by $2 to $22.99 per month, or by $20 to $229.99 per year.
This price hike follows a previous increase in June 2024. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav had signaled the change, stating that the service was underpriced relative to its content. Zaslav also announced future plans to address password sharing, a move that mirrors competitors like Netflix and Disney+. The increase at HBO Max is consistent with recent price adjustments by other services, including Disney+, Hulu, and Apple.
