Best Buy has reportedly notified “My Best Buy” members that the AirPods Pro 3 will be available for purchase starting today, September 9, coinciding with Apple’s iPhone 17 launch event. This information comes from an email sent to Best Buy members and a leak shared on Reddit, suggesting that the new AirPods could be available sooner than typically anticipated.
Historically, Apple has often made minor accessories, such as iPhone cases, available immediately after such events, while major devices like new iPhones and Apple Watches are usually offered for pre-order later in the week. In 2022, when AirPods Pro 2 were launched, they were not immediately available for purchase but were offered for pre-order later in the week.
However, in 2023, the AirPods 4 and new AirPods Max were made available for order immediately after the announcement, although shipping was scheduled for the following week. The current expectation is that Apple will follow a similar pattern with the AirPods Pro 3, making them available for order shortly after the Apple Store comes back online, with shipping commencing the following week.
