Google has released Android 16 QPR1 Beta 3, marking one of the final updates in the Android 16 QPR1 series. This release is available for users enrolled in the Android Beta for Pixel program and supports devices from the Pixel 6 series and newer. The build ID for this update is BP31.250610.004.
This beta release primarily focuses on bug fixes, addressing several critical issues that have been reported. Among the resolved problems are “An issue around RTOS task list corruption that was causing restarts” (Issues #420999948, #426316038), and instances where the “Launcher not completely displaying” (Issues #428088033, #428405658, #429817851).
Other significant fixes include “Notification display issues” (Issues #421792538, #422749237, #420418750, #428896474) and problems with “The media player in the notification pulldown fails to fully display and function” (Issues #419184923, #421879049, #421810067, #423172198, #422560004, #424116279). The update also tackles “Full phone restart due to class loader issues” (Issue #427676713) and a “Kernel issue causing restarts” (Issues #408888279, #409949346, #409960197, #410624610, #407373090, #430095518).
Additional improvements address a “Camera non-functional at startup with black screen” (Issues #421870862, #420725698), instances of “Status bar icons missing corner padding” (Issues #419573315, #419134909), and “Notification shade message folding breaks” (Issue #421366916).
This release follows Android 16 QPR1 Beta 1 in May and Beta 2 in early June, continuing Google’s established beta program cadence. While the company recently introduced a public Canary program, which is expected to significantly impact how Android 17 features are revealed, the existing beta programs for Android 16 are proceeding as planned, bringing the first major update for Android 16 closer to completion.
