Samsung has officially confirmed the upcoming arrival of a Galaxy Fold7 Ultra, revealed through an initial teaser. This new premium foldable device is slated to launch later this year, alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold7, the Galaxy Z Flip7, and the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE.

Industry speculation suggests that Samsung plans to unveil this new generation of foldables at an in-person event rumored to take place in New York in early July.

The teaser for the Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra highlights a notably slim profile. While exact dimensions remain undisclosed, Samsung indicates that the Ultra variant will be thinner than both the current Galaxy Z Fold6, which measures 5.6mm when unfolded, and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition (known as the Samsung W25 in China), which has an unfolded thickness of 4.9mm.

In addition to its design, Samsung is making a significant claim about the Fold7 Ultra’s camera system, promising a “best-in-class camera.” This sets a high bar, particularly considering the photographic capabilities of competing devices in the foldable market such as the vivo X Fold3 Pro.

The introduction of a Fold Ultra variant is not entirely surprising, as a premium version was anticipated during the Galaxy Z Fold6 generation but ultimately did not materialize at that time. Samsung later released the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in South Korea (and as the Samsung W25 in China) in late October. This model featured larger displays (an 8-inch main screen and a 6.5-inch cover screen), a high-resolution 200MP main camera, and 16GB of RAM, all packaged in a thinner (4.9mm unfolded) and lighter design compared to previous iterations.
