A new rumor suggests Google has adjusted the expected launch date for its upcoming Pixel 10 smartphone series. Initially, speculation pointed towards an unveiling on August 13th, the same date the Pixel 9 series was announced last year. However, updated information circulating today indicates a shift in plans.

According to the latest rumor, Google is now reportedly targeting an August 20th launch event for the Pixel 10 family. This date is also rumored to mark the commencement of pre-orders for the new devices, likely immediately following the conclusion of the unveiling event.

Further details from the rumor suggest that the Pixel 10 series is expected to begin shipping and become available for in-store purchase on August 28th. This is contingent, of course, on the accuracy of this newer information compared to the previous August 13th rumor.

Irrespective of the exact launch date, expectations remain that the Pixel 10 handsets will be powered by Google’s latest in-house chipset, the Tensor G5. A significant aspect of the Tensor G5 is the anticipated change in manufacturing partner; it is rumored to be produced by TSMC, a departure from previous Tensor chips made by Samsung. This manufacturing shift is generating optimism for potential improvements in performance and power efficiency compared to earlier Tensor iterations.
