Samsung has resumed the rollout of the One UI 7.0 update, based on Android 15, for the Galaxy S24 series, after pausing it due to a critical bug discovered in the initial firmware.
Samsung initially began rolling out the One UI 7.0 update for the Galaxy S24 series, but the rollout was paused a few days back owing to a critical bug discovered in the initial firmware. The company is now rolling out a newer firmware that should have the issue fixed. The update is live in Samsung’s home country, South Korea, and is expected to start making its way to other markets soon.
The new firmware version is identified by the build number S928NKSU4BYD9. It is unclear whether this update will also be released for those who updated their phones before the rollout was paused. Users updating their S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra to One UI 7 for the first time are recommended to disable their lock screen protection to avoid running into the bug that affected the original update.
The resumption of the One UI 7.0 rollout is part of Samsung’s efforts to deploy the update to various devices. The company had promised to bring One UI 7 to other devices before the end of the month, and it is hoped that the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive the update globally before May.
Users can check for the update manually in their phone’s Settings » Software update menu, or wait for a notification once One UI 7 is available for their device. The One UI 7 firmware is also available in the SamMobile archive for those who prefer to update manually.
