Nothing has unveiled its latest smartphones, the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro, targeting fans of distinctive, see-through hardware. Announced at MWC 2025, these mid-range devices promise improved camera capabilities, boosted performance, and some AI features.
Transparent designs with first three-camera setup
The Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro differentiate themselves through their camera systems, while both maintaining Nothing’s signature transparent design. The Phone (3a) emphasizes telephoto performance, boasting a 50-megapixel primary camera co-engineered with Samsung, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Its design incorporates a Pixel-like camera bar.
The Phone (3a) Pro, on the other hand, prioritizes zoom functionality, relying on both hardware and software enhancements. Its primary camera features a 50-megapixel sensor with 2x in-sensor zoom, while a periscope camera offers 3x optical zoom and up to 60x digital zoom, augmented by AI clarity-enhancing algorithms. It also includes an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The Phone (3a) Pro is distinguishable by its circular, Oppo-like rear design.
Internally, both phones are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 mobile platform and feature 6.7-inch Full HD+ displays with a 120Hz refresh rate. They’re equipped with 5,000 mAh batteries, promising up to two days of battery life.
Nothing is highlighting the AI capabilities of the phones through “Essential Space,” a hub for text and voice notes, accessible via a physical shortcut key. Additional AI-focused features, including Camera Capture, Smart Collections, Focused Search, and Flip to Record, are planned for future release.
