Elon Musk’s company, xAI, has launched the standalone Grok app for iOS users in the United States, expanding its access beyond the X (formerly Twitter) platform where it was initially integrated.

The Grok app is currently available for iOS users in the U.S., Australia, and India, and is accessible through the Apple App Store. Users can still interact with Grok within the X app on Android devices, but the standalone app for Android is not yet released, and there is no confirmed timeline for its availability.
Initially rolled out in 2023 as part of the X Premium+ subscription, Grok was beta tested as a standalone iOS app in Australia since December before expanding to the United States. The ability for users to access Grok without needing an X account marks a significant shift for the chatbot, moving it from a social media context to a broader audience.
