Samsung is expected to host a launch event for the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, 2025, where the company will also showcase the Galaxy Ring 2 and its upcoming smart glasses.

While the Galaxy S25 series will be the main highlight of the Samsung Unpacked event, additional teases for forthcoming products are anticipated. According to Digitimes, the Galaxy Ring 2 and smart glasses will be featured, although neither is expected to go on sale immediately.

The Galaxy Ring 2 is said to mirror the first generation’s launch, which included a teaser at the Galaxy S24 series Unpacked event in January 2024. Samsung later showcased the hardware in February before its full launch in July, alongside new foldables. Reports indicate that the second generation of the Ring will provide enhanced health sensors and improved battery life.

Samsung will also tease its smart glasses during the event. Earlier in December, the company revealed “Project Moohan,” its XR headset. The smart glasses are reported to feature Gemini and weigh approximately 50 grams. The release date for the glasses remains unclear.

The January event is also expected to introduce new AI features for the Galaxy S25 series, including a function that offers personalized clothing suggestions and transport information.

Details about Galaxy Ring 2 enhancements

The Galaxy Ring 2 will provide significant upgrades over the original model. It will feature additional size options to accommodate a broader user base, enhancing competition with products like the Oura Ring.

Improvements in the Galaxy Ring 2 include advanced health tracking capabilities through upgraded sensors for more accurate detection. The device is also expected to have an extended battery life of up to seven days and refined AI features that will offer better health insights for users.

Samsung’s smart glasses will be lightweight and designed to resemble traditional eyewear, allowing for daily use. Qualcomm and Google are contributing to the development of the glasses.

Additionally, Samsung may introduce a Galaxy S25 Slim variant, which will feature a new design and a thinner profile. Further details are anticipated as the launch date approaches.
