Wonder Dynamics AI tool is full of potential to change the film industry in favor of the storytellers.
Besides the obvious issues and continuing debates and controversies, such as the risk of ruining a dimension of reality in the process of making movies, the film industry’s other emerging struggle is the ongoing abuse of CGI and VFX artists by big companies like Marvel. An AI startup called Wonder Dynamics seems to come up with a technology that could deeply affect this whole business scene and its structure in one way or another.
What is Wonder Dynamics AI tool? Meet Wonder Studio
A company co-founded by actor and producer Tye Sheridan and VFX supervisor and filmmaker Nikola Todorovic, Wonder Dynamics has announced the launch of its new AI tool, Wonder Studio. The platform is designed to make the visual effects process more accessible and affordable for filmmakers by leveraging AI and machine learning. With Wonder Dynamics AI tool, or as it is simply named, Wonder Studio, filmmakers can create VFX and CGI elements faster and at a lower price point without the need for expensive production hardware or complicated 3D software.
Wonder Studio is a web-based AI platform that offers an easy-to-use interface for artists to create films with CGI characters. The platform allows filmmakers to produce visually rich films without the need for extensive technical knowledge or resources. With just a few clicks of a button and a camera, artists can create their own CGI-heavy films. Wonder Dynamics AI tool aims to democratize the film industry by providing access to high-quality visual effects at a lower price point, enabling more people to tell their stories through film. The launch of Wonder Studio marks a significant milestone in the company’s mission to transform the film industry through AI and machine learning.
How does the Wonder Dynamics AI tool work?
Here are all the things you need to know about the Wonder Dynamics AI tool:
- The use of production hardware or equipment is not necessary for creating CGI characters, as Wonder Dynamics has developed a platform that eliminates the need for a MoCap suit. Typically, actors are required to wear a MoCap suit in order to drive the performance of a CG character in an industry-standard performance capture system, which is commonly used in films such as Avatar and Planet of the Apes. However, with Wonder Studio, filmmakers can create high-quality CGI films without requiring actors to wear any specialized equipment.
- Heavy frame-by-frame VFX work is not required with the Wonder Dynamics AI tool. The platform analyzes footage from a single camera and captures multiple elements, such as actors’ performances, lighting, compositing, and camera motion. It then automatically animates, lights, and composes the CG character into the live-action scene.
- The Wonder Studio platform is designed to adapt to existing post-production workflows. Using the system, around 80% – 90% of the frame-by-frame VFX work is automated, leaving artists with the remaining “subjective” work. This work can be exported into the software they already use, such as Maya, Unreal, Blender, Nuke, and others.
The final VFX delivery in film production involves multiple iterations and collaborations between thousands of artists and vendors. While many generative AI solutions lack the necessary “editability” for high-level productions, Wonder Studio was created with artists and the filmmaking process in mind. The platform enables detailed edits to each element of the VFX process in 3D space, including lighting, camera, and animation. Wonder Studio streamlines the filmmaking process while allowing artists to maintain control over the final product.
We are proud to introduce Wonder Studio.

How do the creators of the Wonder Dynamics AI tool explain the technology?
Several big names in Hollywood have already adopted Wonder Dynamics’ technology. The Russo Brothers, who are co-directing and producing the upcoming film, Electric State, starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt through AGBO, are currently leveraging the Wonder Studio platform.
Co-founder and CEO of Wonder Dynamics, Nikola Todorovic, says, “We are just filmmakers who, like many other artists in our industry, didn’t have a budget for the kind of sci-fi films we wanted to make, so we set out to make AI tools that eliminate huge cost barriers. The tools we developed have enhanced collaboration and broken through the black box we tend to see in generative AI that limits control of the finest details in each shot.”
Over the past three years, the company has been building foundational technology, and they have recently secured funding from a number of investors, including Horizons Ventures, Founders Fund, Epic Games, MaC Venture Capital, and Samsung NEXT. The Wonder Studio cloud computing platform is powered by NVIDIA RTX Virtual Workstations with A10G Tensor Core GPUs running on AWS EC2 G5 instances.
Tye Sheridan, the other name behind the Wonder Dynamics AI tool, emphasizes that they spent three years building Wonder Studio as a foundational technology, and some exciting new features will be unveiled in the next few months. Sheridan says, “I may be biased, but making movies has to be one of the coolest jobs you could ever have. We are storytellers at heart, and we’re only building technology as a means to help us tell better stories. AI presents a huge opportunity for more films to be made and for more voices to be heard.”
