The Coca-Cola NFT collection is now available on OpenSea. To commemorate Pride Month, the company has released 136 digital collectibles, with all proceeds going to LGBTQIA+ charity. The non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were created by LGBTQIA+ supporter and South African fashion designer Rick Minsi. They have lovely, vibrant Coke bottles with the number 136 as a reference to the history of the Coca-Cola company.

The company isn’t trying to make money with the Coca-Cola NFT collection. Less than $23,000 will be received from the initial sale at a price of 335 MATIC ($167). But there will also be a donation to charity from resales. The site didn’t disclose the price anywhere, or at least we couldn’t discover it, which seemed a little strange. Before the pricing could be seen, you had to first click Mint and then connect your wallet.
The collectibles have a unique share-to-reveal functionality where each artwork will reveal after being shared with a friend.

Since 136 have already been produced, the NFTs will probably be gone by the time you read this. However, do not worry. The floor price for them on OpenSea is roughly $300, although up to this point, resales have been close to the mint price.
“We recognize that many of our fans nowadays are engaging in the metaverse, where shared experiences are enjoyed in new ways and in new worlds. We are always exploring new ways to connect with our fans in both the virtual and physical worlds and have more exciting digital collectible initiatives in the pipeline,” stated Pratik Thakar, Global Head of Creative Strategy and Integrated Content, The Coca-Cola Company.

The new NFTs are centered on “themes of connection and unity” and were inspired by “bubbles inside a Coke bottle.” On July 30, the tokens were scheduled to be given out for free through airdrop or distributed directly to the wallets of the current Coca-Cola NFT holders.
The possibility to share a second item with friends would be provided to the recipients, growing “the brand’s community of fans on the open blockchain.”
“We will continue to learn in this fast-moving space through limited-edition collectible launches tied to key cultural moments. The focus would be on building the company’s virtual ecosystem by surprising and delighting fans,” Thakar added.

Owners of Coca-Cola NFTs will benefit from services, benefits, and extras like Coke Studio-powered events, gaming competitions, and first access to limited-edition product launches from Coca-Cola Creations.
Coca-Cola disclosed that it has a number of metaverse events scheduled for 2022, including festivities for Halloween in October. The beverage company has something for International Singles Day in November as well, so singles won’t be forgotten.
Besides big companies, some artists are also joining some NFT projects, for instance, Bella Hadid NFT project has just been announced.
How much did Coca Cola’s NFT sell for?
The Coca-Cola NFT collection is created in collaboration with Tafi, and they are now available on the Polygon blockchain, an Ethereum sidechain.
To commemorate International Friendship Day, the soft drink manufacturer released its first NFT, with the proceeds going to the Special Olympics. Those NFTs were for virtual wearables in the Decentraland metaverse at the time.

Fans and the cryptocurrency community embraced Coca-entry Cola’s into the rapidly expanding metaverse, as the brand’s first-ever NFT (Non-Fungible Token) collectibles received a winning offer of $575,883.61 at an online auction.
“Fans of the Coca-Cola brand expect the same iconic and optimistic experiences they’re used to in-real-life in the digital world. Magic happens when communities and partners can make the brand their own. We loved how Decentraland embraced the brand and created unique experiences. And we loved seeing NFT and metaverse artists take the iconicity of the brand and put a fresh, modern twist on it,” said Oana Vlad, global senior brand director, Coca-Cola Trademark.

Several other companies, besides Coca-Cola, are participating in Pride Month to celebrate diversity and inclusion. Other companies launching NFTs include Givenchy Parfums and NYX, a division of L’Oreal’s cosmetics division. The Decentraland Pride Parade was also supported by Mastercard. A lot of compnies and artists are creating NFT porjects lately, have you heard the latest Muse NFT album that will qualify for official UK charts?
